Côme Fabre, "The Angel of the Odd"

THE ANGEL OF THE ODD (2013, 33'00")

Fallen angels, ghosts, witches and skeletons, demons and incubi haunt "The Angel of the Odd", the dark romanticism exhibition at the Musée d'Orsay.

A shadow hangs over the age of Enlightenment. As Virgil guided Dante in Hell, Côme Fabre, co-curator of the exhibition, guides us through the maze of this irrational world where the frightening and the sublime, the terrifying and the grotesque are intermingled. Goya, Delacroix, Bunuel, Dreyer and Jeandel and a legion of other artists accompany us in this joyful Dance Macabre. Thrills guaranteed.
