"I've always had a fascination with the degree zero, and with the village some of my family members come from, called Saint Siris, which was the smallest village in France. Within 10 years, the population decreased from five inhabitants to zero. So I place a higher bid on the zero, the pleasure of showing as little as possible and of having the barest territory possible. It is a love of nothingness and of the deletion of all elements."
says Luc Moullet, who is undoubtedly the funniest French filmmaker since Jacques Tati. With Luc Moullet, tragedy transforms into the burlesque, poetics becomes insane and black humor hilarious.
